Troupe Tangiers is a dynamic troupe of Professional Dancers specializing in Middle Eastern Dance of the regions of North Africa, Turkey, and Persia. The troupe was founded in 1979 under Sharifa's direction, and has been performing in Northern California since then.
The troupe has won many awards including "Troupe of the Year" in 1982 and 1990 at the National Belly Dancer of the Year Competition, and the Southern California Belly Dance Competition in 1993. Appearances have included Municipal crafts fairs in Northern California, and the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival.
